Profiles / Permission Sets required for Connection

Note: The first time a Salesforce internal user pushes event data to the Onsite Flock System, they must meet all of the following requirements:
• Be a Salesforce System Administrator
• Be assigned a custom permission set that allows modification of Named Credentials and External Credential parameters (for example, setting the access token), and
• Be assigned the “EventSpark Flock Integration” permission set.


NOTE: Users without the Permission can continue with the Event/Function integration with Flock until the token expires. After the expiration of the Token (30 days), the user with the special permission outlined in below will need to run the Push to Flock again.

Requirements configuration:

Create a new Permission Set and Assign it to the relevant Salesforce System Admin users

Assign access to update Named- & External Credentials to a Salesforces System Administrator User via a custom Permission Set:

  1. From Setup, enter Permission Sets in the Quick Find box, and then select Permission Sets

  2. Click "New"

  3. Give your new custom Permission Set the following name:

    1. Custom Modify Named & External Credentials

  4. Click "Save"

  5. Scroll down to, and select "System Permissions"

  6. Click "Edit" and scroll down to find and check the box of "Allows users to modify Named Credentials and External Credentials" and then click "Save" and "Save" again.

Assign this Permission Sets to users
  1. Click "Manage Assignments"

  2. Click "Add Assignment"

  3. Select the users you want to assign the permissions to, who are

    1. System Admins - The user to establish the first authentication.

    2. Any Users - The users who will push data to FLOCK

  4. Click "Next"

  5. Click "Assign"

  6. Click "Done"

Assign "EventSpark Flock Integration" Permission Sets to users
  1. From Setup, enter Permission Sets in the Quick Find box, and then select Permission Sets

  2. Click on the Permission Sets Name "EventSpark Flock Integration"

  3. Click "Manage Assignments"

  4. Click "Add Assignment"

  5. Select the users you want to assign the permissions to, who are ALSO System Admins

    1. System Admins - The user to establish the first authentication.

    2. Any Users - The users who will push data to FLOCK

  6. Click "Next"

  7. Click "Assign"

  8. Click "Done"
